Exotic Tropical Fruit
Exotic tropical fruit is fruit native to tropical countries and not the United States. In recent years, exotic fruit has been showing up in U.S. supermarkets. One way to know if the fruit is exotic is to look for any stickers on the fruit showing where it was grown.
These fruits may be grown in Central America, South America, Asia, or Australia.

Black Sapote - chocolate lovers - this tastes like it! Scoop the insides out and you have a pudding to eat.
Cherimoya -tastes like a combination of banana, papaya and pineapple.
Dates - Peel and remove seeds, then eat the flesh.
Durian - a very stinky fruit!
Guava - good source of Vitamin C.
Jack Fruit - tastes similar to a pineapple. Seeds, skin, sap and casing have to be removed before eating.
Kumquat - has a sweet and sour taste. Resembles an orange.
Langsat - has a sweet grapefruit taste.
Longan - Peel before eating, vitamin rich.
Lychee - high in Vitamin C.
Mangosteen - supposed to be one of the best tasting fruits tasting like a combination of peach and lemon.
Passion Fruit - the inside is orange with lots of seeds.
Persimmon Fruit - Resembles a tomato.
Pomegranate - nice for making a healthy juice. If eating, eat the red flesh, not the seeds.
Pumalo - Has a grapefruit taste.
Sapodilla - Don't eat the seeds or skin. Tastes like a pear.
Star Fruit - also known as Carambola. Has a tangy to tart taste.
Sugar Apple - very sweet.
