Strawberry Shortcake Recipe


A strawberry shortcake recipe is one of the nice strawberry desserts and strawberry recipes to make for any occasion. Summer time is strawberry time!



Sweet and juicy strawberries are a nice addition to any summertime dessert. They taste good and look pretty!



What you need:

1 quart strawberries
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup sugar
2 cups heavy cream

To make biscuits:

1 1/2 cups biscuit mix
1/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup milk

What you do:

Biscuits:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Mix biscuit mix and sugar in a bowl. Stir milk in.

Roll to 1/2" thickness, cut into six 2" biscuits. Put on baking sheet.

Bake 12 - 15 minutes until a light golden brown. Cool.

Hull and slice the strawberries.

Sprinkle 1/2 cup sugar over berries. Gently mash with a fork.

Macerate 15 - 20 minutes.

In a bowl, mix cream and 1/4 cup sugar. Beat on high until fluffy.

Split biscuits in half and spoon berry mixture over top. Top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Put the other half of the biscuit on top.

You can spoon more berries on top of the biscuit top if desired, or add more whipped cream.
