How To Make Fruit Salad

Kids can learn how to make fruit salad! They'll enjoy it and will be eager to help prepare it.

Fruit salad not only looks pretty but it's scrumptious to eat. It's one of the great healthy snacks for kids they can eat in the morning before school or when they get home.

If you're interested in learning about cooking with kids, fruit salad is a nice dish to prepare together.

Kids love colorful food and fruit salad can be very colorful in addition to consisting of healthy fruits with essential nutrients children need in their every day diets.

Let the kids help prepare the fruit and mix it up. You'll all benefit from the extra hands in the form of a yummy fruit salad.

Let your kids tell you what fruit they want in the salad. If they're allowed to choose the fruit, there's a greater chance that they will want to eat it as well.

Good items to put in your salad that your kids can help you prepare without using utensils are grapes and oranges or tangerines. Once the grapes are washed, the kids can pull them off the stem and put them in a bowl.

If your child is old enough to peel an orange, he can peel the orange or tangerine and then pull it apart. Then you can slice it into bite size pieces and let her place them in the bowl.

You can buy bags of pre-sliced apples in the grocery store (be sure to wash these, too) that your child can place in the fruit bowl after you slice them up into small pieces.

Strawberries, peaches, kiwi and mango are other fruits that look pretty in your salad and that taste good, too. You can wash and cut the fruit up then let your child place these in the bowl.

Then let him mix everything up and help serve the creation at your next meal.
