How To Eat A Kumquat

Learn how to eat a kumquat! This will get you started on trying this fruit.

What can you make with kumquats? Well kumquat recipes include preserves, jams and salads. They can also be used as a garnish or pickled.

This fruit with the interesting name resembles an orange but it's smaller and oval while oranges are usually round.

Kumquats are a citrus fruit and contain Vitamin C.

The peel of the kumquat is usually sweet while the inside of the fruit is more tart.

The next time you spy a kumquat at the grocery store, go ahead and buy it and try it! You'll know how to eat it after all!

1. You can wash it and then just eat it whole. Roll it in your hand as this releases its oils, then you can bite into it. Kumquats have seeds so take this into account before you plop the whole fruit into your mouth.

2. You can cut off the stem, drink the juice, remove the seeds then eat the kumquat.

3. Or you can cut it in half, remove the seeds and then eat it.

4. You may also peel it, discard the skin and eat the insides, disposing of the seeds.
