Warmed Grapefruit with Honey
What you need:
1 grapefruit, halved
2 tsp honey
What you do:
Cut grapefruit in half crossways.
Drizzle with honey (flavoured or plain).
Cook under a hot grill until heated through and juicy, about 5 to 6 minutes.
Makes 1 serving
Orange and Grapefruit Salsa
What you need:
1 ruby red grapefruit, peeled and diced
2 naval oranges, peeled and diced
1 *persimmon, peeled and diced
2 tsp honey (flavoured or plain)
1 tbsp mint leaves, sliced
What you do:
Combine all ingredients together.
Spoon over pancakes, crepes, ice cream, yogurt, or anything else you can think of!
* Persimmons come from the Orient, and have a soft, sweet pulp that is similar to a tomato. When ripe, they are yellowish-green inside. They should be very ripe before eating, otherwise they are too astringent (causes your mouth to pucker, dry, like most wines).
