Fig Recipes

Fig recipes aren't for everyone. The fig fruit seems to be one fruit that people either love or dislike.

Children, in particular, don't seem to be big fans, which is surprising, as this fruit can be quite sweet.

Fig Cake

A nice fig fruit cake recipe.

What you need:

  • 2 cups raw figs, mashed
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups + 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp allspice
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

What you do:

Mix together sugar, figs, shortening and eggs; beat well.

Add flour, cinnamon, allspice, baking soda and pecans.

Pour into a greased and floured bundt cake pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
