Fig Pie


The fig pie is made from a fairly simple fig recipe.

Figs taste sweet and make a nice tasting pie. It's a nice pie for a special occasion or when you want to try something different as a dessert.



Top with some whipped cream or some vanilla ice cream for a tasty dessert.

Add your hot cup of coffee or tea and yummy!



What you need:

  • 5 cups peeled figs; cut in half
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 7 tbsp sugar
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 2 10-inch pastry shells
  • 1 tsp cinnamon or apple spice

What you do:

Place figs in an unbaked 10 inch pastry shell.

Combine cornstarch, sugar and spice; sprinkle over figs.

Add lemon juice and dot with butter.

Form lattice top with strips of pastry and place on top of figs.

Bake at 425 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes; until brown.
