  • 2/3 cup plus 2 tbsp packed golden brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 6 tbsp (3/4 stick) chilled, unsalted butter; cut into pieces
  • 3/4 cup pecans; toasted and chopped
  • 1 1/4 cups dried black mission figs; stemmed and chopped
  • 1/4 cup brandy
  • 2 1/4 pounds golden delicious apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • Warm cream; optional

What you do:

Whisk 3/4 cup flour, 2/3 cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice in medium bowl.
