Banana Smoothies
Banana smoothies are easy to prepare, nutritious, and refreshing, all at the same time!
Bananas have potassium and other nutrients that add to part of a healthier lifestyle.

Banana Berry Smoothie
- 1/2 cup apple juice
- 3/4 cup strawberry nectar
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 banana
- 1 scoop of raspberry sherbet
- 1 scoop fat-free vanilla frozen yogurt
- 1 cup of ice
Put all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.
Banana Fruit Smoothie
- 1 cup orange juice
- 2 cups plain yogurt
- 4 small bananas
- honey to taste
Put everything into the blender and blend until smooth.
Fruit Spice Smoothie Recipe
- 1 frozen banana (best if cut into 1-inch chunks, then frozen)
- 1/2 - 1 cup hulled strawberries
- 1/4 - 1/2 cup soy milk, orange juice, or water
- cinnamon to taste
Add just 1/4 cup of liquid to blender to start, and add more to adjust thickness.
You could also add more banana, or use blueberries, apples, or peaches in place of strawberries.
Cinnamon can be replaced with other spices, such as nutmeg, vanilla, ginger or cloves.
Frozen Blast of Banana Smoothie
A great way to start the day!
- 1 1/2 cups fat free milk
- 1 peeled and sliced medium banana,frozen
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract, optional
- Cinnamon for garnish, optional
Blend everything but cinnamon for about 20 seconds. Pour into glasses and sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.
High in Protein Smoothie
- 1 cup 2 percent milk
- 1 medium banana, cut into chunks
- 2 tablespoons wheat germ
Combine all ingredients in blender; serve.
Orange Banana Smoothies
- 1 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups orange juice
- 1/2 tsp. Vanilla
- 1/2 frozen banana (chunks)
- 1 cup vanilla Frozen Yogurt
- 1/2 cup orange yogurt
- 3 Tbs. orange juice concentrate
Put all ingredients in blender, blend until smooth texture.
Packed with Protein Smoothie
A delicious smoothie packed with protein.
- 2 cups of milk
- 2 tablespoons chocolate milk syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon dry chocolate pudding mix
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
- 1 banana
- 1 cups ice
A tablespoon of whey powder can be added to provide even more protein.
Blend all ingredients until smooth in a blender.
The Power of Protein Smoothie
- 1/2 banana
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1/2 cup fruit juice (such as orange, cranberry, etc.)
For added nutrition use:
- 1 Tbsp soy protein powder
- 1 Tbsp molasses
- 1 Tbsp wheat germ
Blend until smooth, then add frozen fruit such as raspberries or strawberries until smoothie reaches the consistency you desire.
Vanilla Banana Smoothie
- 2 bananas, broken into chunks
- 1 cup vanilla ice cream
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
Add banana and vanilla ice cream to blender first, then add remaining ingredients. Blend until smooth.
Yogurt Banana Shake Smoothie
- 1 C Plain yogurt
- 1 Small banana
- 1 T Frozen orange juice
- Sugar or honey, to taste
- 4 Ice cubes
Put all ingredients into a blender and process until smooth. The banana could easily be replaced with any other fruit you like, such as berries, pineapple, melon, kiwi or apple.
