Baby Food

"I never knew making my own baby food could be so rewarding- until I tried it myself!"

Making your own baby food isn't as difficult or as time consuming as the manufactures would have us believe it is. The real problem is deciding what to make and how to make it. Below you will find links to a few different recipes using fresh fruit. There are books and websites dedicated to this topic, these are just a sampling of what can be found (and only fruit recipes, of course!) I made most of these recipes for my two boys when they were babies, and the biggest obstacle I faced was a lack of freezer space!

Make sure these first-foods your baby tries are really well strained and completely smooth. Remember that your baby's throat muscles are just developed enough to start swallowing solid food, and some don't know what to do with it at first. It's also important that you wait between 5 and 7 days between introducing new foods, in case there are any allergic reactions.

If you have any recipes that your baby just loved and would like to share, please submit them to be added to the site by using the contact me form.
